Welcome home from Ethiopia!

American FLagWe want to give you a big WELCOME HOME!! As most of you already know, a team from Uniontown Bible traveled to Ethiopia for a mission trip. They are probably on a plane right now as I write this, so I haven’t stopped praying for your safe return! We look forward to hearing about their trip, and how God used them to minister to the people of Ethiopia. Look for an updated post this week, but until then, pray for the team’s safe trip home, and for them to be able to catch up on some rest before they dive back into their work week. Pray for God to give them encouragement and for them to take what they learned in Ethiopia, and apply it back at home. Thanks for all of your prayers!

From U-Town to Ethiopia!

*Prayer journal for Ethiopia trip is now available online
We are so excited that some of our own Uniontown CR leaders will be taking a journey (a long one at that!) to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia June 15th – 28th. It is awesome to see how God is using people from Carroll County, MD to minister to people around the globe. While we may speak different languages, have different customs, have different life experiences, and may have different or similar hurts and hang-ups, the answer is always the same for all of us- JESUS! This coming week, keep our team in prayer- that they will be prepared upon departure, for their safety, and that they will seek the will of God. The prayer theme for this trip is “The Armor of God”. Here is a passage from Ephesians…

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” (Ephesians 6:10-20)

Celebrate Recovery (from Uniontown to England)

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)

As many of you already know, some of our team from Uniontown’s Celebrate Recovery are leaving today (May 13) for a trip to England and will return May 19. Keep them in your prayers this week. We are blessed to have the opportunity to send members of our team across the ocean to carry the message of recovery, but more importantly, the message of Jesus! Here are a few things we can be praying for:

Courage and strength of our team
Safe travels and health of our team
That our team will seek God’s will in all they do
That lives will be changed
That Christ will be at the center of the conference
